Side Air Curtain (G2301161): Installation

  1. NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.
    • Position the side air curtain above the door aperture.
    • Align and install the 2 center side air curtain locators to the holes on the body side.
    • Install the bolt.
  2. CAUTION:
    • Make sure the side air curtain metal clips engaged properly.
    • Make sure the side air curtain is untwisted.
    • Make sure the side air curtain front tether is untwisted.
    • Align and install the anti-rotation tab to the hole on the A-pillar.
    • Install the front bolt.
    • Install the 3 side air curtain metal clips. Progress from the center of the side air curtain towards front.
  3. CAUTION: Make sure the side air curtain metal clips engaged properly.
    • Align and install the anti-rotation tab to the hole on body side.
    • Install the rear bolt.
    • Tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

    • Install the 2 side air curtain metal clips. Progress from the center of the side air curtain towards rear.
  4. CAUTION: Make sure the side air curtain electrical connector connected properly.

    Connect the side air curtain electrical connector.

    • Install the bracket.
    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

  6. Install the headliner.

    Refer to: HEADLINER .

  7. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .

  8. If a new component has been installed, configure using Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment.
