Camshaft Carrier (G2308964): Removal
NOTE:

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the upper timing chain.
Refer to: UPPER TIMING CHAIN .
- Remove the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assembly
Refer to: CONTINUOUS VARIABLE VALVE LIFT .
- Remove the purge valve.
Refer to: PURGE VALVE .

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the fuel pump.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Reposition the coolant hose.
- Remove the 19 bolts.
- Remove the camshaft carrier assembly.
Remove and discard the camshaft carrier gasket.

CAUTION: Inspect the O-ring seals, install a new component if damaged.NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the 2 Camshaft Position (CMP) sensors.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the oil filler pipe.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Remove the 20 bolts.
- Remove the 10 camshaft caps.
