Instrument Cluster (G2301125): Removal

CAUTION:

Care must be taken when handling the component. Do not place on a surface with the instrument cluster faced down. Failure to follow this instruction may damage the component.
Do not use excessive force to remove the component. Make sure that all fixings are fully released.

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
Make sure that all the clips are correctly installed.
When a new instrument cluster is to be installed, the Land Rover approved diagnostic system must be connected to the vehicle and the instrument cluster renewal procedure followed.
For non-NAS markets - if a new instrument cluster is to be installed, a new Remote Function Actuator (RFA) will be required. All vehicle keys must be presented to complete the RFA renewal.

CAUTION: If the software number is K8D2-14C104-AC or L8B2-14C104-AC, a new RFA will be required.

NOTE: Non-NAS Markets only.

Using the Land Rover diagnostic equipment, read the RFA software number.

Set the steering wheel to the lowest and closest position.
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
Remove the driver side vent.
Refer to: DRIVER SIDE VENT .

- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the 7 clips.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Remove the steering column lower trim panel.

- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the steering column upper trim panel.

- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the trim panel.

- Remove the access cover.
- Remove the 3 screws.

- Release the 2 plastic retainers.
- Remove the instrument cluster lower trim panel.

- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the instrument cluster upper trim panel.

- Remove the 4 screws.
- Release the instrument cluster.
- Release the wiring harness from the 4 clips.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Remove the instrument cluster.
