Rear HALFSHAFT (G2305910): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles

1. Install the new circlip to the halfshaft.

   Renew Part: Circlip Quantity: 1 . 

   The following step(s) applies to: 

   Non plug in hybrid electric vehicles only

   Install the special tool.

   Special Tool(s): 205-461

   Install the special tool.

   Special Tool(s): 205-461

4. CAUTION:

   • Do not fully engage the halfshaft until the seal protector has been removed.
   • Keep the halfshaft horizontal to avoid damaging the oil seal.
   • Keep the halfshaft horizontal to avoid damaging the CV  boot.
   • Install the rear halfshaft to the rear differential.
   • Pull on the halfshaft inboard joint to make sure the clip has been fully engaged and retains the halfshaft inner joint within the rear drive unit.
5. Install the rear wheel knuckle.
