Roof Opening Panel Frame (G2389859): Removal
- Lay the glass on felt covered supports. Do not stand on edge as this can cause chips which subsequently develop into cracks.
- Protect the surrounding paintwork and body from the movement of the cutting blades.
- The cutting blades used in this procedure are from the standard BTB glass removal kit.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Disconnect the 12 V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Remove the roof opening panel.

- Remove the roof opening panel blind.
Refer to: ROOF BLIND .

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Release the roof opening panel drain tube.

Standard wheelbase
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

Long wheelbase
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

All vehicles
- Disconnect the 5 electrical connectors.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Carefully release the clip.
- Remove the cable support bracket.
- Carefully release the clip.
- Remove the roof pod.

Standard wheelbase
- Release the 6 clips.
- Remove the roof cross bar trim panel.

All vehicles
Apply masking tape to protect the paintwork.

WARNING: Wear safety goggles and protective gloves.CAUTION:
- Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
- Protect the surrounding components.
Carefully cut through the sealant with the glazing knife.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.
With assistance, remove the roof opening panel frame assembly.
