Second Row Seat Backrest Cover (G2308496): Removal

WARNING:

To prevent accidental deployment, you must de-energize the power in the Restraints Control Module (RCM). Wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable before you do any work on, or adjacent to, the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS). If you do not follow these instructions, it can cause injury or death.
Always wear safety glasses when working on an airbag equipped vehicle and when handling an airbag. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
Do not connect any electrical test device or equipment to the SRS connectors.

NOTE:

This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .
To avoid accidental deployment, wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Remove the second row seat cushion.
Refer to: SECOND ROW SEAT CUSHION .

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove and discard the nut.
- Release the second row center seatbelt buckle.
NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the clip.
- Remove the bolt.
NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.

Using a suitable tool release the locking arm.

Fold down the 2 second row seat backrests.

Remove the second row seat backrest in the sequence shown.

Remove the second row seat armrest in the sequence shown.

- Remove the bolt.

Release the second row seat backrest cover.

- Remove and discard the 15 hog rings.
- Remove the second row seat backrest cover.
