Front Row Seat (G2298869): Removal

WARNING:

To prevent accidental deployment, you must de-energize the power in the Restraints Control Module (RCM). Wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable before you do any work on, or adjacent to, the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS). If you do not follow these instructions, it can cause injury or death.
Always wear safety glasses when working on an airbag equipped vehicle and when handling an airbag. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
Do not connect any electrical test device or equipment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) connectors.

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

Move the front row seat backwards.

Remove the 2 bolts.

Move the front row seat fully forward.

Remove the 2 bolts.

Remove the front row seat outer trim.

Fold the front row seat.
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .
To avoid accidental deployment, wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

- Disconnect the front row seatbelt pretensioner electrical connector.
- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Remove the front row seatbelt pretensioner.

Release the front row seat.

Disconnect the main wiring harness electrical connector.
CAUTION:
- Protect the surrounding trim to avoid damage.
- Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

With assistance, remove the front row seat.
