Seat Modules

The seat modules are located under the driver and front passenger seats, rely upon a number of inputs to control various outputs. Operation of the driver seat is controlled by the Driver Seat Module (DSM). Operation of the passenger seat is controlled by the Passenger Seat Module (PSM).

Depending on vehicle configuration, the DSM controls the following functions:

Depending on vehicle configuration, the PSM controls the following functions:

The DSM and the PSM have a fused permanent power supply from the Rear Junction Box (RJB) and the Passenger Junction Box (PJB). The DSM and the PSM also have a signal connection from the RJB. The signal from the RJB is active, when the vehicle is in Power Mode 4 (Accessory).

The DSM and the PSM are connected to the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) body systems bus. This allows the DSM to monitor the position of the door mirrors when storing and recalling memory settings. These signals are provided by the Driver Door Module (DDM) and the Passenger Door Module (PDM). The steering column position is also stored by the DSM. These position signals for the memory store and recall functions are received from the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) assembly through the HS CAN body systems bus. The HS CAN body systems bus connection also allows the DSM and the PSM to transmit memory information. This enables confirmation chimes and display messages on the Instrument Cluster (IC) message center.
