Seat Heater Elements - If Equipped

Depending on vehicle configuration, the front row and second row seat heating can be installed optionally.

The seat heater elements are installed in the seat cushion and backrest. The seat heaters comprise a resistive element which is located within a pad. The pad is located between the foam of the seat cushion or backrest and the outer trim. The cushion heater element is equipped with a Seat Heater Control Module (SHCM). The SHCM comprises a thermostat, which maintains the heater element at a temperature set by the user.

Power for the heater elements is supplied from the Rear Junction Box (RJB) through the SHCM. The heater elements can only operate when the engine is running. The SHCM is connected throughseat Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus to the HVAC control module. The SHCM also controls the power supply to the backrest heater element.
