Oil Pan Extension (G2417609): Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING

  2. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

  3. Drain the engine oil.

    Refer to: ENGINE OIL VACUUM DRAINING AND FILLING 

  4. Remove and discard the engine front cover.

    Refer to: ENGINE FRONT COVER 

  5. Remove the front subframe.

    Refer to: FRONT SUBFRAME

    • Remove the bolt.
    • Release the 3 clips.
    • Remove the oil level gauge pipe.
    • Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

    Remove the 2 bolts.

    Remove the 17 bolts.

    Loosen, but do not fully remove the 2 bolts.

    Using a suitable tool, pry the oil pan away from the engine at the indicated points.

    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Remove the oil pan extension.
  12. NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

    • Remove the 14 bolts.
    • Use a suitable tool to release the oil pan.
    • Remove and discard the oil pan.
