The NVH pads are attached to the Ingenium I6 3.0L petrol engine to reduce the NVH , experienced by the driver or passenger(s). The pads are made of a multi-layer mixed fiber and resin laminate composite depending on application.
The NVH package consists the following:
- An NVH pad with a foam insert for each side of the engine cylinder block.
- A pad located above the fuel rail.
- A pad located above the HP fuel pump.
- There are 2 pads, which located above the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assemblies.
- A pad located above the oil filter plastic cap.
- A pad located at the rear section of the intake manifold.
- A pad located above the timing chain cover.
- A pad located around the oil pan.
- An engine cover located on the top of the engine.
