Crankshaft Position Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The characteristics of the signal supplied by the CKP are learned by the PCM . This enables the PCM to set an adaption and support the engine misfire detection function. There are small variations between different drive plates and different CKP . The adaption must be reset if either component is renewed, or removed and installed. It is also necessary to reset the drive plate adaption if the PCM is renewed or replaced.
The PCM supports 4 drive plate adaptions for the CKP . Each adaption relates to a specific engine speed range. The engine speed ranges are detailed in the table below:
| ADAPTION | ENGINE SPEED - RPM |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1, 800 - 3, 000 |
| 2 | 3, 001 - 3, 800 |
| 3 | 3, 801 - 4, 600 |
| 4 | 4, 601 - 5, 400 |
