acceptable. Substitution of control modules does not guarantee confirmation of a fault, and may also cause additional faults in the vehicle being tested and/or the donor vehicle
- Verify the customer concern
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of damage and system integrityVISUAL INSPECTION DESCRIPTION
MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL - Make sure the speed control sensor is free from obstructions
- Cruise Control Module (CCM)
- Brake switch
- Visibly damaged or worn components
- Fuse(s)
- Damage to wiring loom, incorrect location of wiring, wiring stretched or taught
- Loose or corroded electrical connector(s)
- Steering wheel switches
- Brake switch
- CCM
- Driver Assistance Domain Controller (DADC)
- Powertrain control module
- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step
- If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the symptom chart, alternatively, check for Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) (DTC) index
