Viscous Cooling Fan (G2798406): Removal

NOTE:

- Disconnect the 12V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe t-connector.
Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR
- Release the clamp.
- Remove the right clean air duct.
Release the coolant hose clip.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the viscous cooling fan.
- Remove the fastener.
- Remove the clip.
- Remove the viscous cooling fan upper shroud.
- Remove the closing panel.
- Release the viscous cooling fan electrical connector.

NOTE: Take extra care not to damage the inner cooling fan.

NOTE:
- The thread is left handed.
- Always protect the cooling pack elements to prevent accidental damage.
Use the 2 special tools, remove the viscous cooling fan.
Special Tool(s): 303-1142 , 303-1143
- Rotate the outer cooling fan by hand in both directions.
- Visually check the inner cooling fan for distortion or impact marks.
- If damaged, the cooling fan assembly must be replaced.
