Coolant Pump (G2796574): Removal

WARNING:
Make sure the engine cooling system is cool prior to doing this procedure.
CAUTION:
Engine coolant will damage the paint finished surfaces. If split, immediately remove the coolant and clean the area with water.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the 12V system.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Partially drain the engine cooling system.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant pipe connectors.
- Remove the coolant pipe.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.

- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
Use a suitable tool, disconnect the bleed hose from the engine coolant pump as illustrated.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 clamps.
- Release the 2 coolant hoses.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the engine coolant pump.
- Remove and discard the 2 gaskets.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
- Remove the tube as illustrated.
- Remove and discard the 2 gaskets.
