Engine Vent Oil Separator
Piston blow-by gases are drawn through the engine vent oil separator into the air intake system. The piston blow-by gases added to the clean air by a venturi effect of the clean air passing the hose connection. The engine air intake depression draws gases from the crankcase, through the engine vent oil separator and the hose into the intake manifold and/or clean air Low Pressure (LP) air vent.
The resultant depression in the oil pan, front engine covers and cylinder head covers reduces the load on the joint seals and the pumping losses on the pistons. Engine oil drawn into the oil separator is collected on angled plates in the engine vent oil separator. The oil collects on the plates and falls back to the oil pan through a hole in the cylinder block.
