The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is installed in the engine coolant bypass rail which is installed on the left side of the cylinder block. The ECT sensor measures the temperature of the engine coolant from the cylinder block. The signal from the ECT sensor is sent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through hardwired connection.
