Right Valve Cover (G2796550): Installation

    Install the special tool to the position as illustrated.

    Special Tool(s): 303-1446

    • Install a new right valve cover gasket.

      Renew Part: Valve cover gasket Quantity: 1  .

    • Install 4 new spark plug boss seals.

      Renew Part: Spark plug boss seals Quantity: 4  .

  3. CAUTION:
    • Use only a plastic scraper when removing the old sealant.
    • Use lint free cloth.
    • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of any foreign material.
    • Installation of the valve cover and tightening of the bolts must be completed within 7 minutes of applying the RTV sealant.
    NOTE: The application of the sealant must be 1.5mm diameter 12mm long. Install the valve cover immediately after applying the sealant. The cover should be installed directly to the head without smearing the sealant or the seals.

    Apply 2 steady 1.5 mm diameter bead of RTV sealant to the areas illustrated.

    Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS 

  4. CAUTION: Observe due care when installing the component.

    Install the right valve cover as illustrated.

    Special Tool(s): 303-1446

    Finger tighten the 18 valve cover bolts.

  6. Remove the special tool.

    Special Tool(s): 303-1446 

  7. Fig 1: Valve Cover Bolts Tightening Sequence

    Tighten the 18 valve cover bolts in the sequence illustrated.

    Torque  : 13 Nm 

  8. Reposition the ignition coil wiring harness to the original position.

    • Reposition the wiring harness to the original position.
    • Secure the wiring harness clip.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 6 Nm

    • Reposition the wiring harness to the original position.
    • Secure the wiring harness clip.
    • Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 10 Nm

    • Install the part load breather pipe.
    • Connect the part load breather pipe connector.

    • Install the coolant pipe assembly.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 25 Nm 

    • Connect the coolant hose connector.

    • Reposition the coolant hose to the original position.
    • Connect the coolant hose connector.

    • Reposition and secure the 2 cables to the original position.
    • Secure the 3 clips.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 12 Nm

    • Connect the cable to the jump start terminal.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 12 Nm 

    • Install the cover.
  16. Install the right fuel injectors.

    Refer to: FUEL INJECTORS

  17. Install the right air cleaner outlet pipe.

    Refer to: RIGHT AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE

  18. Install the supercharger.

    Refer to: SUPERCHARGER

  19. Connect the 12 V system.

    Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
