Left Valve Cover (G2796549): Installation

    Install the special tool to the position as illustrated.

    Special Tool(s): 303-1446

    • Install a new left valve cover gasket.

      Renew Part: Valve cover gasket Quantity: 1  .

    • Install 4 new spark plug boss seals.

      Renew Part: Spark plug boss seals Quantity: 4  .

  3. CAUTION:
    • Use only a plastic scraper when removing the old sealant.
    • Use lint free cloth.
    • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of any foreign material.
    • Installation of the valve cover and tightening of the bolts must be completed within 7 minutes of applying the RTV sealant.
    NOTE: The application of the sealant must be 1.5mm diameter 12mm long. Install the valve cover immediately after applying the sealant. The cover should be installed directly to the head without smearing the sealant or the seals.

    Apply 2 steady 1.5 mm diameter bead of RTV sealant to the areas illustrated.

    Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS 

  4. CAUTION: Observe due care when installing the component.

    Install the left valve cover as illustrated.

    Special Tool(s): 303-1446

    Finger tighten the 18 valve cover bolts.

  6. Remove the special tool.

    Special Tool(s): 303-1446

    Tighten the 18 valve cover bolts in the sequence illustrated.

    Torque  : 13 Nm

    • Install the full load breather pipe.
    • Connect the full load breather pipe connector.
  9. Reposition the ignition coil wiring harness to the original position.

    • Reposition the wiring harness to the original position.
    • Secure the 2 wiring harness clips.
    • Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 10 Nm

    • Secure the wiring harness.
    • Secure the wiring harness clip.
    • Connect the electrical connector.

    • Reposition the LP  fuel line to the original position.
    • Secure the LP  fuel line to the 2 clips.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 12 Nm

    • Reposition the EPR  cable to the original position.
    • Install the bracket.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 25 Nm 

    • Secure the 2 wiring harness clips.
  14. Install the left fuel injectors.

    Refer to: FUEL INJECTORS

  15. Install the left air cleaner outlet pipe.

    Refer to: LEFT AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE

  16. Install the supercharger.

    Refer to: SUPERCHARGER

  17. Connect the 12 V system.

    Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
