Exhaust System - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2796745): Removal

NOTE:

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Remove the transmission undershield.
Refer to: TRANSMISSION UNDERSHIELD
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 wiring harnesses from the 2 clips.
Remove and discard the left outer exhaust manifold nut.
Remove and discard the left inner exhaust manifold nut.
Remove and discard the right inner exhaust manifold nut.
Remove and discard the right outer exhaust manifold nut.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the left mid catalyst Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).
- Release the wiring harness from the clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the right mid catalyst HO2S .
- Release the wiring harness from the clip.
- Release the rear left HO2S electrical connector heatshield.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear left HO2S .
- Release the rear right HO2S electrical connector heatshield.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear right HO2S .
- Release the 2 front exhaust mounting rubbers.
- Release the 4 rear exhaust mounting rubbers.
- With assistance, remove the exhaust system.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Remove the 6 bolts from the 2 exhaust actuator control valves.
- Remove the 2 exhaust actuator control valves from the rear silencer.
Use the special tool to remove the mid and the post HO2S .
