Exhaust System - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2796745): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CAUTION:
    • If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new HO2S  .
    • Make sure the HO2S  wiring harness is not twisted more than 180 degrees and is not in contact with either the exhaust or driveshaft.
    • Make sure the anti-seize compound does not contact the HO2S  tip.
    NOTE:
    • If the HO2S  original sensor is to be installed, apply lubricant meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the thread of the sensor.
    • Only do the following step(s) if the component was previously removed.
    • Use the special tool, install and tighten the 4 HO2S  to the 2 catalytic converters.

      Special Tool(s): JLR-309-004 

      Torque  : 48 Nm 

    • Install the 2 exhaust actuator control valves to the rear silencer.
    • Install and tighten the 6 bolts to the 2 exhaust actuator control valves.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

    • With assistance, install the exhaust system.
    • Install the 6 exhaust mounting rubbers.
    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the 2 exhaust actuator control valves.
    • Secure the 2 wiring harnesses.
  2. Install and tighten the 4 new exhaust manifold nuts.

    Renew Part: Exhaust manifold nuts Quantity: 4  .

    Torque  : 40 Nm 

    • Secure the right pre HO2S  wiring harness to the clip.
    • Connect the electrical connector to the right pre HO2S  .
    • Secure the left pre HO2S  wiring harness to the clip.
    • Connect the electrical connector to the left pre HO2S  .
    • Connect the electrical connector to the right post HO2S  .
    • Reposition the right post HO2S  electrical connector heatshield.
    • Connect the electrical connector to the left post HO2S  .
    • Reposition the left post HO2S  electrical connector heatshield.
  3. Install the transmission undershield.
