Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle Battery Coolant Pump

The PHEV battery coolant pump is located next to the PHEV battery. The PHEV battery coolant pump operation is controlled by the BECM . The PHEV battery coolant pump circulates the PHEV battery coolant through the PHEV battery temperature control system. The speed of circulation of PHEV battery coolant is controlled by a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal from the BECM .
The PHEV battery coolant pump has a 3-pin connector. The 3-pin connector has the following connections:
- A 12V supply from the Engine Junction Box (EJB).
- A PWM signal from the BECM (inside the PHEV battery).
- A ground connection.
