WARNING:

This procedure must be carried out in the exact sequence shown. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
This procedure must only be carried out by an Electric Vehicle Senior Authorised Person (EVSAP).
Make sure that you also comply with any local legislation regarding working with high voltages, whilst carrying out this procedure.
Use only approved personal protection equipment, to include: safety glasses or visor, black rubber gloves of the required standards and nonflammable, non-melting clothing, must be worn when instructed to do so.

SAFE TRANSPORTATION ANALYSIS SHEET FOR HYBRID BATTERIES
This form must be filled out in order to assess whether a Jaguar Land Rover hybrid battery is safe for transportation. The results of the test are to be documented in this assessment form. A copy of the assessment form is to remain with the hybrid battery. For transportation purposes all high voltage batteries must include not only this form, but also the documents specified for hazardous materials. The requirements pertaining to the specified documents are different for each country and the transportation method involved.

	STEP 1
	Critical safety inspection (Detection of immediate safety concerns):
		Yes	No
1	Are there any active emission of smoke or flames from the hybrid battery?
		Yes	No
2	Are there any active emissions of electric sparks or arcs from the hybrid battery?

	If at least one question is answered Yes , contact the relevant emergency services immediately.

	STEP 2
	Inspection for damage:
		Yes	No
1	Are there any indications that an explosion or a fire has taken place?
		Yes	No
2	Are there any indications of loose components within the hybrid battery housing?
		Yes	No
3	Are there any signs that electrolyte has leaked out of the hybrid battery housing?
		Yes	No
4	Are there any cracks or holes in the hybrid battery housing?
		Yes	No
5	Are there any dents or scratches to the hybrid battery housing, that extend beyond what is permitted (depth more than 2.0 mm)?
		Yes	No
6	Are any high voltage connections damaged (normally insulated conductors now exposed)?
		Yes	No
7	With the exception of the hybrid battery temperature control coolant connections, does any coolant leak out of the hybrid battery housing?

	If at least one question is answered Yes , the hybrid battery shall be deemed unsafe for transportation and the vehicle must be quarantined accordingly. Contact Technical Support for further assistance.

	STEP 3
	Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and carry out a diagnostic check on the high voltage system:
	If communication with the hybrid battery system is NOT possible, the hybrid battery shall be deemed unsafe for transportation and the vehicle must be quarantined accordingly. Contact Technical Support for further assistance.

2	Hybrid battery 'State of Charge' is more than 25%?

	If the question is answered Yes , the hybrid battery shall be deemed unsafe for transportation and the vehicle must be quarantined accordingly. Contact Technical Support for further assistance.

STEP 4
Removal of the hybrid battery from the vehicle:

If at least one question was answered Yes in the previous 3 steps and after consultation with Technical Support, the vehicle must remain quarantined for a minimum of 5 more days , before the hybrid battery can be removed from the vehicle.

WARNING: This section (step 5) is only to be completed if all the questions in steps 1 to 3 have been answered No .
