Lower Timing Cover - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol - PHEV (G2748112): Installation

CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Apply a continuous 3 mm bead of RTV sealant in the illustrated areas.

Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
CAUTION: Take care not to damage the cylinder head gasket when installing the lower timing cover.

- Install the lower timing cover.
- Make sure the locating dowels are installed correctly.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 5 Nm

Install 2 more bolts as illustrated and tighten the 4 bolts to the correct torque.

Torque : 25 Nm

Install and tighten the remaining 12 bolts.

Torque

M6x30 (1): 12 Nm

M8x35 (2): 25 Nm

M8x30 (3): 25 Nm

Install a new O-ring seal.

Renew Part: Crankshaft position (CKP) Sensor O-ring seal Quantity: 1 .

- Reposition the CKP into the correct location.
- Install the clip.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 8 Nm

Install the clip.
Install the crankshaft rear seal.
Refer to: CRANKSHAFT REAR SEAL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL - PHEV
Connect the 12 V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Check and if necessary top up the engine oil.
