Turbocharger - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol - PHEV (G2748214): Removal

WARNING:
Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING
- Disconnect the 12 V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Remove the secondary bulkhead center panel.
- Remove the intake air resonator.
Refer to: INTAKE AIR RESONATOR
- Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD
- Partially drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the turbocharger rear heatshield.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the turbocharger front heatshield.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the turbocharger upper heatshield.
Remove the turbocharger lower heatshield.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
- Remove the bolt and the 2 sealing washers.
- Discard the 2 sealing washers.
- Move the oil supply pipe away from the turbocharger.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses from the turbocharger.
- Inspect the 2 O-ring seals and replace if damaged.
- Loosen the clamp.
- Release the catalytic converter from the turbocharger.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove and discard the clamp.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the catalytic converter from the bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the charge air recirculation valve.
- Release the clip.
- Disconnect the turbocharger outlet pipe from the charge air cooler.
- Disconnect the turbocharger outlet pipe from the turbocharger.
- Remove the turbocharger outlet pipe.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe in the sequence illustrated.
- Remove and discard the 2 O-ring seals.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the turbocharger.
- Remove and discard the 4 nuts.
- Remove the turbocharger.
Remove and discard the turbocharger gasket.
