Turbocharger - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol - PHEV (G2748214): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Install a new turbocharger gasket.

Renew Part: Turbocharger to exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 .

- Install the turbocharger.
- Install and tighten the 2 new nuts.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold to turbocharger nuts Quantity: 2 .
  
  Torque : 10 Nm

- Install and tighten the remaining 2 new nuts.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold to turbocharger nuts Quantity: 2 .
  
  Torque : 10 Nm
- Tighten the 4 nuts in the illustrated sequence.
  Torque : 25 Nm
Connect the electrical connector to the turbocharger.
- Install 2 new O-ring seals to the oil return pipe.
  Renew Part: Turbocharger oil return pipe seals Quantity: 2 .
- Install the turbocharger oil return pipe.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 11 Nm
- Connect the turbocharger outlet pipe to the charge air cooler.
- Connect the turbocharger outlet pipe to the turbocharger.
- Connect the electrical connector to the charge air recirculation valve.
- Install the clip.
- Reposition the catalytic converter into the correct location.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 25 Nm
- Install a new gasket to the catalytic converter.
  Renew Part: Catalytic converter to turbocharger gasket Quantity: 1 .
- Install a new clamp to the catalytic converter.
  Renew Part: Catalytic converter to turbocharger clamp Quantity: 1 .
- Connect the catalytic converter to the turbocharger.
- Tighten the clamp.
  Torque : 12 Nm
- Connect the 2 coolant pipes to the turbocharger.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 12 Nm
- Install the pipe.
- Install 2 new washers.
  Renew Part: Turbocharger oil feed pipe banjo bolt washers Quantity: 2 .
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 18 Nm
Install the turbocharger lower heatshield to the clip.
- Install the turbocharger upper heatshield.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Install the turbocharger front heatshield.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
  Torque : 9 Nm
- Install the turbocharger rear heatshield.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 9 Nm
Install the engine undershield.

Install the intake air resonator.
Refer to: INTAKE AIR RESONATOR
Install the secondary bulkhead center panel.
Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD CENTER PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL/INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL - PHEV/INGENIUM I6 3.0L DIESEL/INGENIUM I6 3.0L PETROL
Connect the 12 V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Vacuum fill the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
- Check the engine oil level.
- Top up the engine oil level if necessary.
  Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
