Intake Manifold (G2410760): Removal

WARNING:
Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- Always follow the Petrol and Petrol-Ethanol Fuel Systems Health and Safety Precautions, before any repairs are done to the fuel system.

- Release the pressure in the fuel system.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Partially drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
- Remove the engine cover.

- Remove the air filter housing.
Refer to: AIR FILTER HOUSING
- Remove the air filter outlet pipe.
Refer to: AIR FILTER OUTLET PIPE
- Remove the charge air cooler.
Refer to: CHARGE AIR COOLER
- Remove the secondary bulkhead left panel.
- Release the clip.
- Disconnect the charge air recirculation pipe from the charge air cooler.
- Remove the charge air recirculation pipe.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor pipe.
- Remove the fuel vapor pipe.
- Release the clamp.
- Remove the charge air cooler outlet hose.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Release the 4 clamps.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Disconnect the 4 coolant hoses.
- Remove the coolant hose assembly.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Release the clip.
- Disconnect the fuel line.

CAUTION: Care must be taken not to damage the component.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the clip.
- Reposition the oil level gauge away from the intake manifold.
- Remove the 2 fasteners.
- Remove the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) material.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Reposition the vacuum pipe away from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the purge valve assembly.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor pipe.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the purge valve assembly.
- Release the 2 clamps.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses from the throttle body.
- Disconnect the coolant hose.
- Disconnect the coolant pipe.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Remove the bolt.
- Reposition the coolant hoses away from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Manifold Absolute Pressure and Temperature sensor (MAPT) sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body.
- Release the 5 clips.
- Reposition the engine wiring harness away from the intake manifold.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Loosen the fuel line union.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the fuel line.
- Remove the 9 bolts.
- Remove the intake manifold.
Remove and discard the 6 seals.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the throttle body.
- Remove and discard the seal.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the MAPT sensor.
- Release the clip.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor pipe.
- Remove the fuel vapor pipe.
