Crankshaft Rear Seal (G2344458): Installation

CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
Install the special tool JLR-303-1674A to the crankshaft as illustrated.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1674A

CAUTION: The crankshaft rear seal (A) and spacer (B) is one set of parts. If the new crankshaft rear seal is released from the spacer before a successful installation, a new crankshaft rear seal set must be installed.
- Position the new crankshaft rear seal (A) and spacer (B) assembly to the special tool JLR-303-1674A as illustrated.
- Reposition the new crankshaft rear seal from the spacer to the special tool JLR-303-1674A.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1674A
- Discard the crankshaft rear seal spacer.
- Use the special tool JLR-303-1674 adapter and bolt to fully install the crankshaft rear seal.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1674A
- Tighten the special tool JLR-303-1674A adapter bolt until the crankshaft rear seal is properly seated and the adapter bolt is fully inserted.
- Use the special tool JLR-303-1674 adapter and bolt to fully install the crankshaft rear seal.
- Remove the special tool.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1674A
- Make sure the crankshaft rear seal is properly installed.
- Remove the special tool.
- Install the drive plate.

- Connect the startup battery ground cable.
