Engine Oil Draining And Filling (G2692468): Draining

WARNING:
The spilling of hot engine oil is unavoidable during this procedure, care must be taken to prevent scalding.
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. Make sure suitable blanking caps are installed to all open orifices.

CAUTION: Make sure the engine is warm.
- Start and run the engine at idle until the normal operating temperature is reached.
- Stop the engine.
- Remove the engine cover.

Remove the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) cover.
Loosen the oil filter element cap 4 complete turns.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Remove the engine undershield.

CAUTION:
- Be prepared to catch escaping oil.
- Allow at least 10 minutes for the engine oil to drain.
- Remove and discard the oil pan drain plug.
- Allow the engine oil to drain into a suitable container.
- Install and tighten a new oil pan drain plug.
Renew Part: Oil pan drain plug Quantity: 1 .
Torque : 25 Nm
- Remove the container from below the vehicle.
- Install and tighten a new oil pan drain plug.
- Lower the vehicle.

CAUTION: Be prepared to catch escaping oil.
Remove the oil filter element cap.
- Remove and discard the oil filter element.
- Remove and discard the oil filter element cap o-ring.
