Electronic Engine Controls - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2796673): Overview
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The Engine Management System (EMS) operates the engine to generate the output demanded by the APP sensor and by other system loads.
The EMS has a PCM that uses a torque-based strategy to evaluate the inputs from the sensors and other systems. The PCM produces outputs to the engine actuators to produce the required torque.
The EMS controls the following:
- Charge air
- Fueling
- Ignition timing
- Valve timing
- Cylinder knock
- Idle speed
- Engine cooling fan
- Exhaust emissions
- Evaporative emissions
- Immobilization system interface
- Speed control.
