There are several adaptive maps associated with the fueling strategy. Within the fueling strategy, the PCM  calculates short-term adaptions and long term adaptions. The PCM  monitors the deterioration of the HO2S  over a period of time. It also monitors the current correction associated with the sensors.

The PCM  stores a DTC  in circumstances where an adaption is forced to exceed its operating parameters. Simultaneously, the PCM  records the engine speed, engine load and intake air temperature.
