Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The MAP sensor allows the PCM to calculate the load on the engine. The load is used in the calculation of fuel injection time.
The MAP sensor is located in the air inlet of the supercharger. The sensor is installed with a single screw and sealed with an o-ring. A 3-pin electrical connector provides the interface with the engine wiring harness.
If the MAP sensor fails:
- The PCM adopts a default value of 1 bar (14.5 psi).
- The engine suffers from poor starting, rough running and poor drive ability.
