Logging Strategy
- Engine cranking
- Engine running
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Check crankshaft position sensor is installed correctly
- Refer to electrical circuit diagrams and check the crankshaft position sensor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance
- Inspect connectors for signs of water ingress, and pins for damage and/or corrosion
- Check crankshaft position sensor air gap to target rotor is correct
- Install new crankshaft position sensor, only when diagnosed as failed
