Purge Valve Pressure Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The purge valve pressure sensor is located on the side of the engine, adjacent to the purge valve. The purge valve pressure sensor is secured to the purge valve mounting bracket.
The purge valve pressure sensor monitors the pressure within the purge valve continuously, to detect hydrocarbon leakage during the engine operation. The pressure signals from the purge valve pressure sensor are compared with the predicted values within the PCM . Then the PCM can determine, if there is a leakage in the fuel vapor system.
The purge valve pressure sensor have a 3-pin connector which is connected to the PCM .
The 3-pin connector provides the following connections:
- An electrical 5V supply from the PCM .
- A pressure signal input to the PCM .
- A ground connection controlled by the PCM .
