The Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assembly oil temperature sensor is mounted in a threaded hole in the front CVVL assembly. The CVVL assembly oil temperature sensor is a NTC  type sensor. The NTC  sensor allows the PCM  to determine the oil temperature.

The oil temperature sensor has a 2-pin connector.

The 2-pin connector provides the following connections:

The oil temperature sensor data is used by the PCM  to determine oil viscosity and allows accurate CVVL solenoid switching time compensation.
