Right Fuel Injectors (G2867294): Removal
- Extreme cleanliness must be exercised when handling these components. Make sure that all tools and the surrounding area is clean before commencing work.
- Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all components must be sealed.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Always follow the fuel system health and safety precautions when doing any repairs to the fuel system.

- Release the pressure in the fuel system.
Refer to: FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING
- Disconnect the 12 V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Partially drain the engine cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
- Clean the fuel injectors, High Pressure (HP) fuel supply line and surrounding areas.

- Remove the generator.
Refer to: GENERATOR
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe T-connector.
Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the 5 coolant pipe connectors.
- Remove the coolant pipe assembly.
- Release the coolant pipe assembly and position to one side.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Release the cable bracket assembly from the valve cover.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the clip.
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the hose.
- Remove the right differential pressure sensor assembly.
Release the vacuum pipe from the right coil cover and position to one side.
- Release the 3 upper clips.
- Release the stud.
- Release the 4 lower clips.
- Remove the right coil cover.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the clip.
- Disconnect the hose.
- Remove the bolt and the 2 nuts.
- Remove the left differential pressure sensor assembly.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Release the 2 fuel line clips.
- Release the 2 fuel lines from the left coil cover.
- Disconnect the 2 fuel line connectors.
- Remove the oil filler cap.
- Release the 2 lower studs.
- Release the 2 upper clips.
- Remove the left coil cover.
- Install the oil filler cap.
- Disconnect the breather pipe connector.
- Release the clip.
- Position the breather pipe to one side.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Position the wiring harness to one side.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Loosen the 2 fuel crossover line unions.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Disconnect the 2 fuel crossover line unions.
- Remove the fuel crossover line.
- Release the clip.
- Position the wiring harness to one side.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Remove the nut.
- Disconnect the HP fuel line union.

CAUTION: Align the steering to the straight ahead position. Do not allow the steering wheel to rotate when the steering column is disconnected.NOTE: Right hand drive vehicles only.
- Remove and discard the steering column lower shaft lower bolt.
- Reposition the steering column shaft.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the idler pulley bracket.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the ground cable and position to one side.
Remove the engine mount nut.

CAUTION: Use a wooden block to protect the oil pan when supporting the engine.
Support the engine.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
- Remove the 4 engine mount bracket bolts.
- Reposition the engine mount bracket.
Remove the engine mount bracket.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 4 wiring harness clips as illustrated.
- Position the wiring harness to one side.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the HP fuel line cover.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.CAUTION: Remove and discard the HP fuel supply lines.
- Disconnect the 2 HP fuel line unions.
- Remove the 2 HP fuel line bracket bolts.
- Remove and discard the HP fuel line assembly.
- Remove the nut.
- Disconnect the 9 electrical connectors.
- Release the 5 clips.
- Position the wiring harness to one side.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the 4 ignition coils.

CAUTION: Make a note of the fuel injector clamp alignment to the fuel rail prior to removal.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the fuel rail.

CAUTION:
- Make sure that the special tool is located correctly to the fuel injector prior to removing the fuel injector.
- Make sure that the special tool is held square to the fuel injector during removal.
- Make sure that all open ports are covered to prevent any foreign material ingress.
Using the special tool, remove the 4 fuel injectors.

CAUTION: If the fuel injector is being removed without a new component being installed, the fuel injector clamp must remain with the fuel injector it is removed with.
Remove and discard the 4 fuel injector retaining clamp.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a knife to remove the Teflon™ seal as damage could occur to the fuel injector.
- Do not cut the Teflon™ seal too deep as damage could occur to the fuel injector.
- Pinch the Teflon™ seal to allow the tool to cut the Teflon™ seal without damaging the fuel injector.
Remove and discard the 4 Teflon™ seals.

CAUTION: Do not use any sharp tools to remove the O-ring seal as damage could occur to the fuel injector.
Remove and discard the 4 fuel injector O-ring seals.
