Thermostat Housing (G2796577): Removal

CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the 12V system.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING
- Partially drain the engine cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe t-connector.
Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR
- Release the clamp.
- Remove the left clean air duct.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant pipe connectors.
- Remove the coolant pipe.
Remove the cover at the clip.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
- Release the clamp.
- Release the coolant hose.
- Disconnect the coolant hose connector.

WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 coolant hose clamps.
- Release the 2 coolant hoses.
- Remove the thermostat housing.
