MHEV Battery Tray - 110 (G2422561): Removal

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles 

  1. Power down the Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) system.

    Refer to: MHEV POWER DOWN/UP 

  2. Remove the Direct Current to Direct Current (DC/DC).

    Refer to: DIRECT CURRENT TO DIRECT CURRENT CONVERTER - 90 

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Vehicles without occasional rear seats

    • Remove the 4 clips.
    • Reposition the rear floor carpet.

    Remove the 2 clips from the MHEV  battery housing air duct.

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    All vehicles

    Remove the MHEV  battery housing air duct.

    Disconnect the MHEV  battery breather hose from the MHEV  battery.

    Release the 2 wiring harness clips from the MHEV  battery cover.

    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Remove the nut.
    • Remove the MHEV  battery cover.

    • Remove the 6 bolts.
    • Remove the 3 brackets.

    Remove the MHEV  battery.

    • Remove the nut.
    • Disconnect the rear MHEV  junction box ground cable.

    Disconnect the MHEV  battery cooling fan electrical connector.

    Disconnect the DC/DC  converter cooling fan electrical connector.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Release the MHEV  battery ground cable clip.
    • Remove the MHEV  battery tray.
  15. NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

    Release the 4 wiring harness clips from the MHEV  battery tray.

    • Remove the 2 nuts.
    • Remove the DC/DC  cooling fan cover.

    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Remove the DC/DC  cooling fan.

    • Release the wiring harness clip.
    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Remove the MHEV  battery cooling fan.

    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Remove the rear MHEV  junction box.
