Valves (G2796555): Installation

  1. CAUTION: Make sure the working surfaces are thoroughly clean to avoid contamination of the sensitive components.
    NOTE: Make sure that all the component mating faces are clean.

    Clean the cylinder heads with fluid.

  2. CAUTION: Make sure that the components have been thoroughly cleaned and inspected before installing to the engine. Failure to follow this instruction might result in premature engine failure.

    Install the 32 new valve stem seals.

    Renew Part: Valve stem oil seals Quantity: 32  .

  3. CAUTION:
    • Make sure that the components have been thoroughly cleaned and inspected before installing to the engine. Failure to follow this instruction might result in premature engine failure.
    • If the cylinder head valve components are to be reused, make sure to install them into their marked position.
    • Lubricate the valve stem with clean engine oil.

      Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS 

    • Install the valve.
    • Install the valve spring and cap.
    • Install the special tool and compress the valve spring.

      Special Tool(s): 303-252 

    • Install and secure the 2 collets.
  4. Repeat the installation procedure for the remaining valves.
  5. Install the left cylinder head.

  6. Install the right cylinder head.

    Refer to: RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD 

  7. Connect the 12 V system.

    Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
