Drive Plate (G2811633): Removal

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

Remove the transmission.
Refer to: TRANSMISSION - V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL

- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield from the starter motor.

- Reposition the positive cable shield as illustrated.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the positive cable from the starter motor.

Disconnect the starter motor negative cable electrical connector.

- Release the breather pipe clip.
- Disconnect the 2 breather pipe connections.
- Remove and discard the cable tie securing the starter motor breather pipe to the engine.
- Remove the starter motor breather pipe.

- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the starter motor bracket.

- Remove the starter motor bolt.
- Remove the starter motor as illustrated.

Install the special tool.

Loosen but do not remove the 10 bolts.

Remove the special tool.

- Remove and discard the 10 bolts.
- Remove the drive plate.
