Drive Plate (G2811633): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

CAUTION: Do not insert the bottoming tap more than the depth of the threaded holes (16mm). Apply tape to the bottoming tap 16mm from the end as a visual guide.

Use a suitable bottoming tap to clean the threads.
CAUTION: Make sure that the locating pin on the crankshaft is aligned with the guide hole in the drive plate

Install the drive plate.

Install but do not fully tighten the 10 new bolts.

Renew Part: Drive plate bolt(s) Quantity: 10 .

Install the special tool.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1304

Install and tighten the 10 bolts in the illustrated sequence.

Torque

Stage 1: 45 Nm

Stage 2: 90°

Remove the special tool.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1304

- Install the starter motor as illustrated.
- Install and tighten the starter motor bolt.
  Torque : 48 Nm

- Install the starter motor bracket.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
  Torque : 47 Nm

- Install the starter motor cable tie.
- Use a suitable cable tie to secure the starter motor cable tie to the engine.
- Connect the 2 breather pipe connections.
- Secure the breather pipe clip.

Connect the starter motor negative cable electrical connector.

- Connect the positive cable to the starter motor.
- Install and tighten the nut.
  Torque : 12 Nm
- Reposition the positive cable shield to the original position as illustrated.

- Install the heatshield to the starter motor.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 6 Nm
Install the transmission.
