Starter Motor (G2768462): Removal

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING
Disconnect the 12V system.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD
Remove the transmission undershield.
Refer to: TRANSMISSION UNDERSHIELD

Reposition the startup battery positive cable cover.

- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Disconnect the 2 wiring harnesses.

- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the starter motor.

Remove and discard the starter motor gasket.
NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.

- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield from the starter motor.
