PHEV Battery (G2769713): Removal
- It is the responsibility of the Electric Vehicle Authorised Person (EVAP) to make sure they comply with any local legislation for work on High Voltage (HV).
- The approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn where indicated within this procedure and not removed unless indicated within a step. All items of PPE must be checked for signs of damage before each use, if damaged, replacement PPE must be obtained before doing this procedure.
- If the vehicle has been powered down, do not power up the vehicle until all the bonding points have been tested.
- Make sure all the HV connectors, ground points and locating points are clean and free from foreign material before disconnecting and connecting.
- Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
- All Permit To Work (PTW) documents must be kept for a minimum of 5 years.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety Rules.

- Before handling any HV
connectors the person(s) completing this procedure must refer to the 'High Voltage Electrical Connector Operation and Inspection' document.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

Power Down the HV system. Only technicians qualified to EVAP level or higher are allowed to complete this step of the procedure.

WARNING: Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Electric Vehicle Competent Person (EVCP) trained technicians only.
This procedure involves work on components associated with the HV system. Only technicians qualified to EVCP level or higher are allowed to perform this procedure. It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle Safety Rules.

- Drain the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) battery cooling system.
Refer to: PHEV BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
Reposition the second row seat backrests.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Reposition the HV cable and antenna assembly away from the PHEV battery.
- Remove the ground cable bolt.
- Reposition the ground cable away from the PHEV battery.
- Release the 2 coolant hose clips.
- Reposition the coolant hoses away from the PHEV battery.
Remove the 6 PHEV battery bolts.
- Install the special tool JLR-415-112 on the PHEV
battery.
Special Tool(s): JLR-415-112
- Install the special tool JLR-415-112 on the PHEV
battery.

CAUTION:
- This step requires the aid of another technician.
- Take extra care not to damage the surrounding components.
- With assistance, remove the PHEV
battery.
General Equipment: Hydraulic jib crane

CAUTION:
- Take extra care not to damage the PHEV battery vent and seal.
- The PHEV battery must not rest on the vent.
Place the PHEV battery on a suitable horizontal surface.

- Remove the special tool JLR-415-112 from the PHEV
battery.
