Inverter (G2769924): Removal
- If the vehicle has been powered down, do not power up the vehicle until all the bonding points have been tested.
- It is the responsibility of the Electric Vehicle Authorised Person (EVAP) to make sure they comply with any local legislation for work on High Voltage (HV)
- The approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn where indicated within this procedure and not removed unless indicated within a step. All items of PPE must be checked for signs of damage before each use, if damaged, replacement PPE must be obtained before doing this procedure.
- Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
- Make sure all the HV connectors, ground points and locating points are clean and free from foreign material before disconnecting and connecting.
- Permit To Work (PTW) documents must be kept for a minimum of 5 years.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustration depending on the vehicle specification, but essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety Rules.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Before handling any HV
connectors the person(s) completing this procedure must refer to the 'High Voltage Electrical Connector Operation and Inspection' document.

WARNING: JLR Electric Vehicle Competent Person (EVCP) trained technicians only.
This procedure involves work on components associated with the HV system. Only technicians qualified to EVCP level or higher are allowed to perform this procedure. It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle Safety Rules.

- Drain the engine cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
- Remove the exhaust system.
Refer to: EXHAUST SYSTEM
- Remove and discard the push on steel clip.
- Remove the 5 bolts.
- Remove the front exhaust tunnel heatshield.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the center exhaust tunnel heatshield.
- Remove the 10 bolts.
- Remove the rear exhaust tunnel heatshield.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses.
- Reposition the 2 coolant pipes away from the inverter lower shield.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the inverter lower shield.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the inverter electrical connector.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Disconnect the 3-phase HV cable.
Disconnect the HV inverter cable.
Disconnect the breather pipe.
- Remove the ground cable bolt.
- Reposition the ground cable away from the inverter.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.
- Remove the 6 bolts.
- With assistance, remove the inverter.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further, if the component has been removed for access only
Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses.
