Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle Battery Coolant Heater

The PHEV battery coolant heater is located near to the High Voltage Integrated Box. The PHEV battery coolant heater provides only a set level of heat input into the PHEV battery coolant. The flow of PHEV battery coolant through the PHEV battery coolant heater is controlled by the BECM by a PWM signal to the PHEV battery coolant pump. The PHEV battery coolant heater only operates when the vehicle is plugged into an external charging point.
The PHEV battery coolant heater has a 2-pin connector. The 2-pin connector has the following connections:
- A 12V supply from the Rear Junction Box (RJB) relay, controlled by the BECM .
- A ground connection.
