The coolant diverter valve is the component that allows the thermal management of the system. The coolant diverter valve is controlled by a PWM signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
The coolant diverter valve allows the coolant to flow either through:
- The PHEV battery low temperature radiator.
- The PHEV battery coolant cooler.
The coolant diverter valve has a 2-pin electrical connector. The 2-pin connector has the following connections:
- A Local Interconnect Network (LIN) signal from the PCM .
- A ground connection.
