The PHEV battery is located under the loadspace compartment.
The PHEV battery is made of a number lithium ion cells that are connected together in modules. These modules are then connected together to form the PHEV battery.
The PHEV battery has an MSD .
The PHEV battery has these electrical connections:
- The HV connector to the High Voltage Integrated Box.
- The HV connector to the inverter.
- The 12V 18-pin connector for the following connections:
- The external high voltage interlock loop (quantity 2).
- A connection from the Restraints Control Module (RCM).
- The High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) power mode zero system bus (quantity 2).
- A power supply (quantity 2).
- A Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal for the PHEV battery coolant pump.
- A signal for the PHEV battery coolant heater (quantity 2).
- A ground connection (quantity 2).
The MSD is located under the loadspace floor, on the left corner at the rear of the second row seats. The MSD disconnects the electrical circuit within the PHEV battery.
The MSD has a lock to secure it to the MSD connection. The MSD lock lever must be moved before the MSD can be removed from the MSD connection.
After re-installing the MSD make sure that the MSD lock lever is fully closed before operating the vehicle. Use a Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment to make sure that no Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) (DTC) have been stored for the PHEV battery when the MSD is disconnected.
