Drive Plate (G2744267): Removal

CAUTION:
Under no circumstances should the drive plate retaining bolts be inserted into the crankshaft with the drive plate removed. Failure to follow this instruction will result in damage to the engine.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the 12V system.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the charge air cooler.
Refer to: CHARGE AIR COOLER .
- Remove the transmission assembly.
Refer to: TRANSMISSION - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL (G2784101) .
- Release the 2 hose connections.
- Release the hose clip.
- Position the 2 hoses aside.
- Release the hose clamp.
- Release the CRV hose clip.
- Remove the hose.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the hose clamp.
- Remove the hose.
- Release the charge air cooler intake pipe retaining clip.
- Remove the charge air cooler intake pipe.

CAUTION: Only rotate the crankshaft clockwise.NOTE: The engine may require rotating to the correct position before the special tool can be installed.
The 4 locating pegs of the special tool must be installed correctly into the crankshaft pulley.Install special tool JLR-303-1630 to the crankshaft pulley.
Install the Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1630

CAUTION: Discard the bolts.
- Remove and discard the 8 drive plate bolts.
- Remove the drive plate.
