Starting System - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol/INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol - PHEV (G2743734): Overview

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Vehicle with generator is equipped with starter motor that engages with the ring gear on the crankshaft drive plate to start the engine.

The Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is equipped with a conventional starter motor and a BISG  . The 12V BISG  does not operate as a generator in this configuration, this is used as a starter motor on the PHEV  . The BISG  engages the BISG  drive belt to start the engine, when the appropriate conditions are met.

The starting system incorporates an auto stop/start system. The auto stop/start system is automatically enabled each time, when the vehicle is switched to Power Mode 6 (Ignition ON). The auto stop/start switch can be used by the driver to disable the system.
