Accessory Drive - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol/INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol - PHEV (G2743732): Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The crankshaft pulley is attached to and rotates with the crankshaft. The crankshaft pulley gives the drive for the engine coolant pump belt or the accessory drive belt which in turn gives rotational power for the front mounted accessories.

On PHEV  the BISG  can start the engine by turning the crankshaft through the BISG  drive belt. The BISG  has been introduced to provide a virtually silent engine crank. There is a Direct Current to Direct Current converter (DC/DC) to provide 12V power from the high voltage battery to the vehicle systems. Therefore in this application the generator function of the 12V BISG  is not used.
